How do I vote in the Icelandic Pirate Party primaries?
To be able to vote in the Primaries of the Pirate Party of Iceland you have to have a Kennitala (ID number) and íslykill (authentification) if you do not have a íslykil you can apply for one here (https://innskraning.island.is/order.aspx) and get it either in the mail or to your Online Bank.
- are you already registered in the Pirates? If not you can register here: https://x.piratar.is/accounts/register/
- you will receive an email verification, where you click on a link to verify and are asked for your íslykil to log in to x.piratar.is
- Once in you will be assigned a constituency depending on your legal address, you will then be able to vote in the primaries for that constituency!
The primaries in Reykjavík begin on February 19th and run until February 26th at 15:00. You have to be a member for 30 days *prior* to be able to vote!
Once the Primaries open, you simply click “opna Kjörseðil” (open ballot) and you drag and drop the folks running in the primaries! Made a mistake? No worries! you can drag up and down and change your voting until March 13th!
